The tourism portal is the website of IRCTC where the various tour packages and services of IRCTC are displayed.

The tourism portal can be used or accessed by any person or travel agent who wants to book tour packages.

The tourism portal provides the facility for online booking of packages and services of IRCTC.

All IRCTC Tour packages including Bharat Darshan, and services like Retiring room, Hotels, Lounge, etc can be booked on the tourism portal.

Tour packages can be booked after registering a user id and password or can also be booked using the guest login.

After login in the portal, click on the required icon in the home page which will take you to the respective package. Then click the “Details” tab, where you will get the Overview, Itinerary, Inclusion, Terms and Conditions and Contact us. You will get the day-wise itinerary when you click the Itinerary tab.

The maximum number of passengers that can be booked are given below, which is subject to berth blocking in the respective package class.
Rail tour package – 6 pax
Bharat Darshan – 8 pax
Holiday package – 10 pax
Group booking pax limit subject to availability.

Packages can also be booked for children who are accompanied by at least one adult. The booking of tour package for children is subject to available occupancy. The applicable charges are available in the respective packages.

Generally, the tour packages will be available for booking upto 05 days before date of departure. However, for some tour packages like Rail tour packages, Air packages, time restrictions apply.

Yes, you can book packages on their behalf.

  • Part payment is allowed for online booking for package cost above Rs. 50,000/-per transaction for all Packages.
  • IRCTC registered users and Guest users can avail the part payment facility for online booking at www.irctctourism.com.
  • IRCTC counters can also use this facility to accommodate the walk-in customers.
  • Agents are not authorized for online booking with part payment at www.irctctourism.com.
  • The minimum ARP (Advanced Reservation Period) for part payment facility would be for booking done before 35 days from departure date.
  • Part Payment is applicable on total booking amount, where the package cost is greater than Rs 50000/-. It will be collected in 2 installments inclusive of GST.
    ✔ For Domestic/International Air Packages: - 1st payment for 30% amount, Final/ Balance payment for 70%.
    ✔ For All Other Packages: - 1st payment for 25% amount, Final/Balance payment for 75%.
  • If the due/final payment is not done within 30 days prior to departure date , then the request for the final payment would not be accepted & booking would be treated as cancelled & relevant cancellation charges would be applicable.
  • Partial cancellation of passengers is not allowed in part payment transactions.
  • For any cancellation and part/final payment days are counted excluding the date of departure.
  • Tour confirmation number will only be generated after receipt of total package cost by IRCTC.
  • Only Full cancellation is allowed on the above transactions with applicable cancellation charges.
  • Note: In case of any technical error to update the final payment before due date, please mail us at "portal@irctc.com".

The packages can be booked using the option of “International Cards (powered by Razorpay)”

The package cost displayed in the portal is inclusive of all charges. No service charge/fee will be charged by IRCTC.

The following charges will be payable by the customers while booking packages.

  • Net banking - PG charges Rs 10 + GST is payable extra
  • Debit/Credit cards - PG chgs- Upto 0.9% (Debit Card) / 1.8% (Credit Card)+ GST is payable extra.
  • Wallets - PG chgs- 2.0% + GST is payable extra
  • EMI (Powered by Razor pay) - 3.0 % service charge
  • ePayLater – 10% service charge
The applicable bank charges will be displayed in the portal at the time of making payment.

Cancellation charges vary for different packages. The applicable cancellation charges are available in the respective product “terms and conditions”.

All cases of refund are processed by IRCTC within 2 days. However, the refunds to the customers is subject to their respective banks refund process, for net banking/debit/credit card which will take up to 5 days, aggregating to 7 days.

The status can be checked in the booked history in “my account”. Where the tour confirmation number is not generated, the package cost will be automatically refunded in the same account within 3-5 working days in case of net banking and 5-7 days in case of debit/credit cards.

Apart from the contact numbers displayed in the respective packages, the toll-free number 1800110139 can also be used.

Rail Tour Packages (RTP) are unique feature of IRCTC designed Tour packages which include confirm rail ticket, road transport with pick up & drop from railway station, Hotel stay, Meals and accidental insurance.

IRCTC is a single window for providing tour packages with confirmed Rail tickets with all facilities for various destinations.

Booking can be done through online from our website www.irctctourism.com and offline from our offices.

Anyone can book Rail tour packages before four days of their journey date (according to availability) i.e. if your travel is 15th Dec then client can able to book their Rail Tour packages by 12th Dec according to the availability.

No the voucher is not a confirm ticket for Rail travel. The respective Zone will contact you for your travel before two days of your journey and he will tell all important information regarding your journey. He will meet and handover your travel kit on the same day of your journey. You can also contact the marketing coordinator whose number is given in the Voucher for any further clarifications regarding the package.

A certificate will be issued by the IRCTC Ltd. that the journey has actually been performed by the government servant and his family members for whom he is claiming the Leave travel Concession. IRCTC Ltd. will indicate separately the rail fare & bus component in the certificate. Please contact the IRCTC’s where you have taken the packages for the issuance of LTC certificate after completion of the journey.

Customer can make online payment through credit card and debit card, online banking etc. Customer can also book by paying cash at IRCTC offices.

You cannot postpone or prepone a journey through online. You have to cancel the package and rebook for changing dates.

No. The facility provided by Railways to IRCTC for blocking the berth is only for promoting tourism and hence IRCTC cannot sell only train tickets.

No, the package is set for the duration as per the onward and return train journey. Hence the duration of package cannot be changed.

No. The co-ordination at the destination station is based on the berth numbers of the tourists. Hence berths cannot be changed during the journey.

The level of luxury of hotels depends on the category of packages you have availed. However IRCTC has taken maximum care to ensure that you will have a pleasant stay irrespective of the category of package you availed.

IRCTC packages are very competitively priced. You really cannot compare our package with others since IRCTC is the only agency in India offering a complete package with prior blocked to and fro train tickets.

No. Railway does not offer concession for the blocked berths for running Rail Tour packages.

The payment to hotels is mostly paid in advance. If you decide to change or upgrade hotel, it will be purely on your expenses. Moreover, changing of hotel by one group will affect the logistics arranged by IRCTC for the entire group. Hence changing of hotel is not recommended.

We cannot change the duration of the tour package. It will be same or fix which is mentioned in the itinerary.

If for some reason, you could not see the ticket confirmation page, please check your "Booked Tickets" list, wherein the details of all the transactions with their status would be available. On an unsuccessful transaction, the amount debited would be credited back to you with 5 to 7 days in full without levying any charges.

Yes. You can cancel one or more members of the group

In case of any unforeseen circumstances, IRCTC will try its level best to continue the tour with altered itinerary. The refund in such cases will be totally depending on the actual scenario and also the services already availed by the customer.

Cancellation Policy: For cancellation of your ticket, please log in to your account, select the Tour Confirmation Number of the ticket you wish to cancel and cancel your ticket from your booked history on line. Cancellation of your Ticket is possible only on the website www.irctctourism.com, and is not possible on PRS Counters. If the user wishes to cancel his ticket, cancellation rules for Land (Holiday) and Rail Tour Packages as under:

For tour packages booked online, customer must login in the portal and select “my account” and check the product icon. The customer must then select the particular TID to be cancelled and press the cancel tab.

For tour packages booked from IRCTC counter, customer must approach the respective IRCTC office/Counter where he booked the tour package. The counter staff will help him in cancelling the tour package.

In case of any issue in cancellation, the customer can mail their problem to tourism@irctc.com.

For bookings done using guest login, the customer must use the same email id and mobile number which was used at the time of booking. He must login using the guest login and click on “my account” and check the product icon. The customer must then select the particular TID and passenger to be cancelled and press the cancel tab.

All RTP packages can only be booked as per the Boarding points displayed in the drop down list. However in case of change in preference of Boarding point, the customer must press the “contact us” tab in the respective product and speak to the concerned IRCTC staff.

Online Tickets will be generated and issued 4 days prior to the departure. The user can take a print of the train ticket for the onward and return journey by accessing “my account” in the portal page.

It is mandatory for all passengers to carry photo id card during the package tour. The valid Photo ID Card are Aadhaar, Voter id card, Passport, Driving Licence, PAN Card, Credit Cards with Photo, Cards issued by Central/State Government and Student ID cards with photo issued by School/College for their students.

No. The packages are sold on seat in coach/car basis and hence all the guests have to follow the same itinerary.

The package price is as for the itinerary published. In case you wish to change the itinerary, it will be at your own expense and risk. IRCTC will not be responsible for any delay or loss of time or missing the return train. If you wish to change the itinerary as per your choice, you have to provide written intimation to IRCTC to this effect.

All the arrangements for the tour including transportation, hotels etc are pre-paid by IRCTC already. Hence you will not be eligible for any refund.

Yes. You may please contact our office concerned whose number is available in the package details. You will be required to make difference of payment for arranging exclusive travel.

Where the website is not working, for all cancellations, a mail/request must be sent to tourism@irctc.com. The time and date of the cancellation mail/request will be the basis for computing cancellation charges.

Yes, can be done. However the request must be send the request to tourism@irctc.com from the registered email id, 05 days prior to date of departure.

The package is designed duly taking into consideration of the general practise of the industry. Hence the packages can be booked only as per the occupancy as allowed in the website.

The package is made utilising the train berth blocking which is already made. Hence we cannot add more seats for the same package. However if the train tickets are available for both directions, we can customise a package for two people so as to join with the group.

No, these group packages are available only on the mentioned dates.

Group holidays are planned with uniform services for all travellers and any change in flight, mode of road transport, hotel is not possible.

In case of group holidays, it is mandatory to travel as per the initially booked flight. No airline allows deviation. Therefore it is not possible to change the date of return.

Room categories in all packages are the base category unless stated otherwise. It is suggested that before finalizing the tour with us kindly go through the website of the hotels or check the review of hotel on any website like trip advisor.

IRCTC’s maximum domestic tours are unescorted unless specified otherwise. But every tour either it’s escorted or not, is well coordinated through IRCTC’s own regional/ zonal offices as company is having Pan India presence. Moreover, dedicated team contact numbers will be shared with you before the commencement of the tour for any timely facilitation and coordination.

All group domestic air packages are on vehicle sharing basis (Seat in coach basis/SIC). A suitable vehicle as per the size of group is provided for transfers and sightseeing. There is no provision for private or separate car for each family. Category of vehicle, A/C or Non A/C is usually specified in package inclusions.

Guest / Traveller have to reach airport own at the place of tour origin. Airport transfers are arranged only at the destination; not at origin.

The flight ticket & hotel voucher will be sent to your email id approximate seven (7) days prior to the travel.

Please reach the airport 2 hours before the departure of the flight.

Only Air vistara , Air India and JET airways provide meal on board in domestic flights in India. In other airlines/ flight food and beverages are on chargeable basis (Subject to Airline policy).

The meals included are always specified in the package inclusion. Please check & resolve the client’s query.

The flight details for every package are given in overview page (package details) with tentative flight timing. The actual timing will be mentioned on the final flight ticket. Though, there will not be much difference in the flight timing until and unless airline changes its schedule. It is advisable to reconfirm the departure terminal and the flight schedule from the airline before leaving for the airport.

Web check in is not possible in our group packages.

It is mandatory to carry the identity proof for each traveller including child & infant as well. The name, spelling on ticket should match with the identity proof. In case of any disparity airline can prevent from boarding the flight.

It is mandatory to carry the age proof of children (02 to 11 yrs) and infant (below 02yrs) along with other travel documents.

In airline no seat is provided to Infant.

Room allocation (Twin bed / Double bed) is at the discretion of the hotel. Though, usually rooms are allocated as per the client request only.

Numbers of meals are always corresponding to the number of nights booked. Breakfast is not provided on the day of arrival unless specifically mentioned in the inclusions and itinerary.

The check in and check-out time of the hotel is 12 to 12 noon. Though, IRCTC always tries to provide check-in on arrival, but can’t confirm the early check-in and late check-out.

In hotels for an extra Adult / Child rollaway bed / mattress/ sofa cum bed shall be provided, if extra bed is booked at the time of booking.

To avail the arrival transfers please check the IRCTC representative/driver holding the placard in your name / IRCTC name. The number of vehicle & driver / IRCTC representative will be shared with you one day prior to arrival at destination.

Timings: Breakfast: 08:00 - 10:00 hrs. Dinner: 19:30 - 22:00 hrs. These are the standard buffet timings observed by the hotels, meals only specified in the inclusions are included in the package, for any meal not included in the package guest has to pay directly at the hotel. You are kindly requested to check the perfect buffet timings at the time of check in at the hotel.

Efforts are always made to execute the tour as per the itinerary detailed on the website. But itinerary may vary due to weather, local circumstances, flight schedule or any situation beyond control. Efforts are made to cover all the places detailed in the itinerary. Though, day of visit may differ. Therefore, any Itinerary posted on the website is only a proposed holiday outline.

There will be no refund for un-utilized services. As services are pre purchased.

Wheel-chair at airport is available on request. You may request for the same to our operation team. But during tour wheel chair is subject to availability and you may have to pay additional charges.

It shall be solely the responsibility to hold valid travel documents and statutory clearances, to enable you to travel on the tour such as passports and medical insurance certificates and other statutory certificates including immigration clearance. In any case, your Passport must be valid for at least six months subsequent to the scheduled departure date (Return) of the tour.

As granting or rejecting visas and immigration clearance is the sole prerogative of the concerned sovereign governments, IRCTC shall neither be responsible in case of non-granting of such documents nor liable for any delay, denial or other related act/omission or for any loss, expense, damage or cost resulting there from. The position in respect of cancellation of tour by client due to non-availability of travel documents would not change only by virtue of the Client having applied for such documents through IRCTC. Even if visas are rejected, the stipulated fees of IRCTC shall be payable by the Client. There will be no refund to the Client, or any member of his party, is unable to travel due to the said reasons. In such cases, the non-refundable deposit paid by the clients shall be forfeited and no claim whatsoever shall be made for the same.

The details of inclusions and exclusions are provided in all the tours of IRCTC.

  • 100% payment at the time of booking will be required.
  • On completion of the booking and payment formalities, a confirmation tour voucher will be generated.
  • You will have to pay all bank charges.
  • The prevailing rate of exchange on the date of the transaction would be applicable.
  • The IRCTC reserves the right to decline your booking / s for any Tour or to cancel your booking without assigning any reason.

Category of hotels differs from package to package. However the category of hotels is mentioned in each tour of IRCTC.

The number of travellers varies depending on the destination. The usual group size for an International tour is between 30 to 40 guests. In the case of speciality tours, there are chances that the number of travelling may increase.

When you a book a group tour, IRCTC acts as a facilitator for your VISA process.

The journeys are planned well in advance. IRCTC reserves the right to make changes to the programme if necessary at any point of time. Should the minimum number of passengers not be met or due to certain operational reasons and conditions, IRCTC reserve the right to cancel the departure or amend the same. Most changes made by IRCTC would be minor, but on certain occasions there could be a possibility of making a significant change. A change is defined as significant if it involves a change of destination or date of departure. In such an eventuality, IRCTC would inform you as soon as possible and provide you with the following solutions:

1. Accepting the changed arrangements

or

2. Cancelling or accepting the cancellation where you will receive a refund of the payment remitted to IRCTC. However, there will be no refund for any service such as pre/post accommodation, airline tickets, excursions, and extensions etc. that have been booked by you and/or your Travel Agent. In case of a 'force majeure' situation due to which a departure has to be cancelled, we regret there would be no refund of the money paid to us or reimbursement of any additional expenses incurred by you as a result of our cancellation/change.

Health advisory:

  • a) Senior citizen passenger must get their medical checkup before booking the tour and fitness certificate is required while booking.
  • b) Passengers above the age of 75 are required to accompany by an escort/family member of younger age.
  • Familiarise yourself with the countries you are visiting.
  • Check the latest travel advisories of MEA and follow them.
  • Take personal responsibility for your travel choices, your safety, finances and behaviour overseas, including obeying the laws of the country you are visiting.
  • Make sure you have the right visas for the countries you are visiting or transiting and check any other entry or exit requirements.
  • Organise your finances to cover your planned travel.
  • Obey the laws of the country you're visiting (even if these appear harsh or unfair by Indian standards). Don't expect to be treated differently from the locals.
  • Take appropriate travel and comprehensive medical insurance that covers you for any unexpected costs; make sure you have sought medical advice for health concerns, have up to date vaccinations and, if you're carrying pharmaceutical products or medicines from India, make sure they are allowed in the country you are visiting.
  • Protect your passport and report it promptly if it is lost, stolen or damaged.
  • Make sure your passport is valid (with at least six months validity from your planned date of return to India) and will not expire when you are overseas.
  • Carry extra passport photos in case your passport is lost or stolen and you need to replace it while you're away.
  • Make copies of your passport (including visa pages), insurance policy, traveller’s cheques, visas and credit card numbers. Carry one copy in a separate place away from the originals and also leave a copy with someone at home.
  • Keep in contact with friends and family back home and leave a copy of your insurance policy details and your overseas itinerary with them.
  • In case your stay in a foreign country is for a reasonable length of time, register with the local Indian Embassy/Consulate before leaving India or soon after arrival, to get better access to consular assistance and updates.
  • Treat consular staff with respect and be honest in providing the Embassy/Consulate with all relevant information when seeking our assistance.
  • If you get arrested or detained for some reason, insist on Consular access (under the Vienna Convention) to a representative from the nearest Indian Embassy/Consulate.
  • Indian food is not guaranteed and local food may be served at destination. Tourist must be ready to accept the local food.
  • Please avoid being Over drunk by intake of hard drinks during the flights to avoid any inconvenience during Visa on Arrival, Immigration and Custom Process.
  • Being a group tour package, personalized service is not viable; hence please converge with the group.
  • Kindly queue up while boarding the busses and don't rush at the accommodation centre at the time of check-in. It is the duty of the co-passengers to provide seats first for the Handicapped and older people. Please do not request our representative for blocking any seat or specific room.
  • You should adhere to the time announced by our representative, failing which you will have to come to the next place on your own expenses.
  • Please keep patient and calm while journey and avoid any unlawful arguments. Speak politely to other tourists, staffs & officers on duty.
  • There may be changes in the sightseeing if any odd situation arises & the same has to be adhered to. In case of any problem arising due to some natural calamity or abnormal situation, alternate arrangements will be made for which extra cost is to be borne by the tourists.

IRCTC do not change the itinerary nor date of the tour, however in case of force majeure events, circumstances force us to change the routing or date of the tour, as the case may be, just for your safety.

Ideally only 1 Professional representative is assigned to manage the group & since he has to follow the itinerary, the group may have to move ahead to the next destination while you may have to stay back at your current location - additional services will be on chargeable basis. Either IRCTC may be able to provide you with assistance - subject to availability & on chargeable basis only - who'll assist you with all the required & necessary formalities like lodging a complaint / FIR at the nearest police station & securing a Landing Certificate from the Indian Embassy of the respective international destination.

Infant is any guest who is below 2 years of age whereas child is guest who is or above 2 years of age and below 12 years of age.

Generally, we have to walk at sightseeing places, amusement parks and at the airports sometimes for a long distance, however the same will be timely instructed by our representative.

Yes, you do get telephonic wake up call through the hotel automated system, however it is advisable to have your mobile alarms set to be on the safer side.

Punctuality is of utmost importance when traveling in group. We do not want you to miss any part of the tour so please be on time and always follow the Tour Leader's instructions. In case, you miss any part of the tour, we are not responsible/liable and no refund shall be given to you in this regard.

A qualified companion must accompany the guest who needs such special assistance as individual assistance cannot be given to such guest by the Tour Leader considering he has to manage the entire group.

Group Tour Itineraries are designed and planned in such a way that you should get to see maximum places, so you will get time only when you are back at the hotel. However, if you wish to skip any sightseeing, then you have to inform the Tour Leader accordingly, but you shall not get any refund for such services which you have not availed at your own discretion.

If you fall sick on tour, kindly inform the Tour Leader immediately. The Tour Leader will assist you in making all arrangements for the medical aid, doctor on call etc. However, the expenses will have to be borne by you. Here, Insurance plays a major role hence we highly recommend that you should get yourself and your family insured adequately before travel.

We highly recommend you to carry sufficient medicines along with you on tour. While packing, distribute them evenly in different bags to ensure that you have some medicine with you incase there is any delay in getting baggage or loss. However you do get medicines on tour but your doctors prescription for the same is a must.

Yes, airlines have provision but it is limited hence you need to inform us at the time of booking. Few airlines also have certain charges for wheel chair. Wheelchair is subject to availability and at the discretion of the airline.

Granting or Non-Granting of a VISA solely depends on the respective Consulate/ Embassy. We just act as a facilitator. We neither assure nor guarantee the VISA to anyone since the same is beyond our control.

We do give pre-departure information sheet once you book a tour which consists information about the destination, things to carry, weather, shopping etc. It is also available on the website under post booking information.

Yes, 2 to 3 days prior to your scheduled departure we give a call to inform the reporting time and place.

Retiring Rooms are rooms, which are available at Railway Stations across India, They are available in Single, Double and Dormitory type of occupancy with AC and Non AC combination.

i. Deduction of 20% of the booking amount if cancelled 2 days in advance excluding the day of occupation (First Day).

iii. No refund shall be admissible in case of cancellation of retiring room booking on the same day.

iv. If more than one room/dormitory is booked and cancellation is being done for few room/dormitory then cancellation rule I, ii and iii will be applicable for room/dormitory as per case.

v. Passenger wise cancellation is not allowed, only Room wise cancellation is allowed.

In case of full cancellation of PRS ticket against which Retiring room is booked, then Retiring room bookings would also get automatically cancelled.
